Kidstreet Summer Camp at Lillstreet Art Center


Lillstreet Art Center is hiring camp teachers and assistants for 2018 Summer Camp season. Our art camps begin the week of June 11 and run through the week of August 27.


This year, Lillstreet will host more than 200 different camps over a twelve-week period. We provide a wide variety of art experiences for children of all skill levels, ages 3 to 18 years. We are seeking qualified individuals who work within the arts and have a passion for and experience working with children.


Lillstreet offers full-day and half-day camps that run 9am-3:30pm, 9am-1pm and 1:30-4:30pm every week day. All applicants must be available from 8:30am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

Timeline for Applications:

  • February 19: Application Deadline

  • February 19 - March 1: Review Process

  • March 7-16: Interviews

  • March 19: Acceptance Notifications

Skills & Qualifications: 


Camp Teacher

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Education or related field

    • Or 2 years of an undergraduate arts or education program

  • Experience teaching and managing children (ages 3 - 18) in an artistic setting

  • Knowledge of and experience in applicable camp medium (clay, drawing, painting, metalsmithing, sewing, digital arts or other mixed-media)

  • Must be able to create and provide in-depth lesson plans and communicate supply requests to Department Director by a given deadline.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Responsible and able to follow studio rules and guidelines

  • Quick thinking, flexible and highly engaging in a classroom setting

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Must be available to teach 8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday


Camp Assistant

  • Experience in clay, drawing, painting, metalsmithing, sewing, digital arts and other mixed-media.

  • Experience working with children ages 3-18

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Ability to organize and help set up and clean up for camp

  • Must be available to assist 8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
