Summary of position: is seeking an organized and aspiring photo / video documentation intern who can think on their feet and would like an opportunity to strengthen their professional experience and portfolio by working with Links Hall and ECLIPSING through a documentation internship. This position has the unique opportunity to work with artist Amina Ross, a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist and educator, in order to produce documentation that will be used by Links Hall and ECLIPSING. Documentation intern will receive photo credit with all photo use within Links Hall and ECLIPSING press and website.

Responsibilities: Shoot ECLIPSING commissioned performances, events, and co-presentations. Shoot, edit and upload short interviews, testimonials, and promotional video segments. Hone ability to add text, graphics and animations to videos. Shoot still photos during events. Edit and upload photos to website and social media. Other responsibilities as directed.

In April 2013, Links Hall partnered with musician/presenter Mike Reed to create a new collaborative arts venue: Constellation | Links Hall as a progressive home for all performance disciplines and for artists at all stages in their careers.

Skills & Qualifications: 

Skills & Qualifications: Must have own equipment, laptop, and editing software. Proficient with Macs and a strong familiarity with one or more professional video editing programs and formats for distribution. Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines. Experience filming interviews, testimonials, events, or promotional videos. Interest in performance / movement-based arts is a plus.

Requirements: Must be able to work as part of a team in an open workspace but also able to work independently. Links Hall is a small office but with big programs. Please submit a letter describing your interest in photographing live art performances and events along with some work samples of your own video/photography.

Dates: January - March 2019

Hours per week: 10 - 20 hours per week, including staff meetings (flexible scheduling)

Classification of Position: For credit / $250 stipend.

Evaluation Procedures and Schedules: Initial and exit interviews with ECLIPSING Curator (Amina Ross). University will also survey student and supervisor.
