Marketing Manager

Emerald City Theatre, one of Chicago's most popular children’s theatre companies, seeks an energetic, motivated, well-organized individual to serve as Marketing Manager.

Reporting to the Marketing & Audience ServicesDirector, the Marketing Manager is involved in all areas of Marketing and Communications. The Marketing Manager works closely with the Marketing Content Manager to support all areas of Marketing & Communications.

This role is responsible for execution of all marketing projects and initiatives. This includes assisting in the creation of all marketing plans, plan execution, and market research. Additionally, it includes management of freelance designers and digital dissemination of design.

 

Main Duties:

Creation of Marketing Plans (10%): Assist Marketing Director in brainstorming and tracking communication and marketing plans for all Education, Artistic, Development, and Outreach initatives.

Project Execution (70%):Act as point person for all ongoing projects, manage budget and financials, execute advertising plans, create copy, oversee eblast calendar and creation, maintain website, and manage freelance employees and vendors.

Marketing Research (10%): Conduct market research and use in planning, track analytics and report out, create and implement survey strategies.

Public Relations (10%):Oversee PR communications and contacts, pitch stories, organize and attend promotional appearances.

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Candidates must have a minimum 2-4 years professional work experience, preferably in arts administration or a cultural organization environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and systematically compile technical and statistical information and to prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Possess high creativity and demonstrated ability in project management, print and digital marketing, and research and reporting.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism, initiative and integrity.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in solving problems.
  • Creativity, vision, attention to detail, and strong editing skills required.
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility and willingness to handle new and different tasks.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions, and regularly seek new marketing opportunities.
  • Must be able to lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Suite, MailChimp, Google AdWords and Analytics, and social media platforms.
  • Occasional nights and weekends are required in support of special events, fundraisers, or Board meetings.
  • Commitment to theater, arts education, and Chicago’s children.
  • Experience with Patron Manager preferred.

 

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is competitive with prevailing compensation for similar positions within the non-profit performing arts industry. Benefits package includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, vacation pay, and paid sick leave.
