Gallery Intern Job Description

 
 
Responsibilities:
Intern will assist in the registrar duties for the gallery, which include cataloguing, documentation packing, installation and storage of artwork. Intern will also assist in development of social media and internet campaigns, as well as daily operational tasks involved in a busy downtown gallery.
 
Time Commitment:
  • 8 - 16 hours per week during business hours. M - F, 9 - 5, Flexible.
 
Benefits:
RNG interns will gain a unique insights into gallery practices and programing. Through the development of art handling and registrar skills. This internship will serve as a mentorship working directly with the gallery assistant, director and owner and an introduction to the day-to-day business of a busy art gallery.
 
 
To Become a RNG intern:
Internship will begin at the beginning of the spring semester and run through the entire semester. Previous preparator experience a plus but not necessary. Students should have good computer skills, be personable (as you will interact with clients) and a professional, eager to learn attitude!

Richard Norton Gallery specializes in important American fine art of the early Twentieth Century. Founded in the year 2000, the gallery offers a diverse selection of Impressionist and Modern paintings drawings and sculpture.
