Beverly Arts Center - Teaching Artists needed for IMMEDIATE positions

The Beverly Arts Center located at 2407 W 111th Street, Chicago, IL 60655 is hiring talented Teaching Artists in Theatre, Dance, Music, Film, and Visual Arts for immediate, summer, and future opportunities in the 2018-19 School Year.

Outreach programming ranges from elementary school to high school to adult students. Contractual comittments range from one day to one month, to one quarter, to year-long contracts. Some workshops meet one day per week, to two days per week, to five days per week. Some programs are one hour per day to six hours per day.

We offer year-round work for Teaching Artists to work in Chicago public and private schools, suburban public and private schools, community organizations, and within the BAC building as part of field-trip events, special events, and Summer Arts Camp programming. Pay rate is $25-$50 per hour plus prep hours. Teaching Artists are paid bi-weekly. We are willng to work with complicated artist schedules!

The BAC offers quarterly paid professional development training for all Teaching Artists. Teaching Artists are allowed to contract with other organizations while employed by the BAC.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in artist's field preferred or equal experience.

- Teaching experience preferred, but not required. 

- Must be able to pass a background check and finger-printing

- Reliable transportation preferred but not required.

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications: 

- Must be on-time for all contracted hours.

- Must be able to write simple lesson plans and turn them in on-time.

- Must enjoy working with children ages K-12. (Some Pre-K work is available for those interestesd.)

- Must be organized and able to turn paperwork in by deadlines.

- Must have behavior management and classroom management techniques in "toolbelt" or be willing to be taught.

- Reliable transportation is a PLUS.

- Great communication skills.

- Bachelor's degree in artist's field preferred or equal experience.
