Assistant Acting Teacher and Director

Two Roads Theatre Project is looking for an Assistant Acting Teacher and Director for their annual two-week Summer Acting Lab!  This volunteer position is ideal for a recent BFA or BA Theatre graduate who is interested in gaining teaching experience working with youth and teens, as well as attaining directing experience.  The assistant teacher/director will be an integral part of the acting classroom experience and process of directing an original play.  The Summer Acting Lab runs July 16th - 27th, Monday - Friday (9am - 12pm), with a showing on the evening of Sunday, July 29th.  The program is held in the North Center neighborhood, directly off of the Irving Park Brown Line. 


Two Roads Theatre Project offers high quality instruction in the art of acting.  Through small class sizes, individualized instruction, and a sense of play in a non-competitive environment, Two Roads Theatre Project teaches the craft of acting in order to cultivate artistry, foster creativity, and develop transferable skills to last a lifetime.

Skills & Qualifications: 


  • Background in Acting and/or Theatre (Preferrably the candidate will have a degree in or be pursuing a degree in Acting, Theatre, or a related field.)


  • Enthusiasm, energy, and a sense of play!


  • Desire to teach


  • Responsible and reliable


  • Excellent communication skills!
