Collage Tactics Workshop with Melissa Oresky | Peninsula School of Art

Wednesday, July 11, 2018 (All day) to Saturday, July 14, 2018 (All day)

Concept and Experience
Collage is a medium that bridges aspects of drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, and print. It is as much a way of thinking as making. This workshop will present methods of cutting apart and connecting, collecting and arranging, gluing, attaching, and building materials into pictorial images and designs. Issues of continuity and discontinuity will be considered, as within the fragmented space of pictures, materials, identities, and information in contemporary life.

Class time will consist of lectures that present work by modern and contemporary artists, technical demonstrations, and time to work on projects - one per day - that explore material processes and concepts presented. Projects will be specific, yet allow for individual interpretation. You will work with images and materials collected prior to the workshop.

Open to all levels.
