Vernal Equinox: Spring Awakens.

The Forest Preserve District of Will County is seeking applications for its inaugural juried art show, “Vernal Equinox: Spring Awakens."

All art mediums are welcome, including 2D and 3D pieces, except for performance art and film.   To commemorate the return of spring after a long midwestern winter, we are looking for artwork that addresses and honors the natural world. If it celebrates the first leafing out of trees, blooming of bulbs, or critters waking up after a long hibernation –– all the better!  If  your artwork is nature inspired,  put it in front of other nature lovers  at this all media show celebrating nature and the return of spring!

There is no fee to enter, and the top three art entries will receive Visa gift cards in the amounts of $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $200 for third place. Awards are being provided by The Nature Foundation of Will County.  Winners will be determined by a jury and public vote.

The art show will run from March 12-31 at Plum Creek Nature Center in Crete Township.
