The Northwest Choral Society, a 45-voice premier community chorus based in northwest Chicago and suburbs, will celebrate its 53rd season in 2018-2019. NWCS believes music transforms our lives, develops creativity and musical expression, and unites all people into a community. We draw upon singers from the greater Chicago area with the purpose of performing a diverse repertoire of the highest caliber for the joy, enrichment and education of our membership and our audiences. Our chorus members come from many walks of life and professions.
NWCS performs a variety of sacred, classical and popular music under the leadership of our new artistic director, Kevin Kelly, with collaborative pianist Lori Lyn Mackie. This season we will give concerts in Mt. Prospect, Palatine and Northbrook, in December, March and June. NWCS rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, currently in Des Plaines.
NWCS seeks qualified tenors and basses for its 2018-2019 concert season, including potential soloists. Previous choral experience and basic music-reading skills are desired, and a short audition is required.
